Isn’t it funny…

That we both looked just like those images? Well, except, I didn’t notice your pocket watch.

Childbirth Fatalities – Why so many?

Women living in poor countries are 300 times more likely to die during
pregnancy or childbirth than if they lived in rich countries, UNICEF
said in a report released Thursday in Johannesburg.

On average, 1,500 women die every day during pregnancy or childbirth,
or about half a million per year, with 95 percent of them in Africa or
Asia. India alone accounts for 22 percent of the global total.

Why is this?

I don't actually mean why is it so uneven between rich and poor societies–but why would so many women die from childbirth complications in the first place?  It seems like there's some kind of evolutionary defect involved here.  How many female animals in the wild die from childbirth complications?

Any scientists in the house?

Natalie Dylan Auctioning Her Virginity…

Natalie Dylan is selling her virginity online. Intriguingly, the 22-year-old San Diego
woman, who already holds a B.S. in women’s studies, plans to finance
her graduate school education in marriage and family therapy from the
proceeds of the virginity auction. To prove her chastity, she will
undergo a gynecological exam as well as a lie detector test.

For some reason, this doesn’t outrage my like it should.  So many people lose their virginity for reasons far stupider than paying for graduate school.  Does it make her a whore?  Technically, yes.  But is that worse than being an idiot girl who gives it up to some jackass guy because he tells her he loves her?  From a feminist perspective, I think Natalie is much more in control of her destiny than most girls who are having sex at much younger ages.

Thoughts?

The Human Party.

I am sickened by not only the wanton destruction of innocent human life in Gaza, but by the callousness that I see in so many people who refuse to acknowledge what a crime it is.  I ask you which is better:
A group of hate-filled rebels that use their own people as cover to wage war?
Or a group of hate-filled imperialists who criticize the rebels for not valuing human life and then go ahead and engage them to the destruction of hundreds of innocent civilians?
The answer:  NEITHER.
You see, they are the same–those two groups.  The Israeli government and Hamas are the problem with the world.  They are so intent on their own hatred for one another that they are both willing to go ahead with their fight, neither of them standing up to defend innocent life.
And it’s not just Israel and Hamas.  It’s Al-Qaeda.  TheTaliban.  Neoconservatives who instigated a false war for profit against Iraq.  Fat and greedy monarchs who live off the blood and sweat of their own people.  Bloated and selfish billionaires who exploit populations of desperate, hungry people in order to eek out a few more profits every year.  Bloodthirsty, hateful, godless bastards all of them.
I know Jews.  I know Christians.  I know Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists.  I know individuals who value life and believe in accountability before a higher power.
These “parties” of politicians, soldiers and businessmen who feed off humanity, sucking up the resources by earning, exploiting, raping and watching without remorse while children lie in the streets covered in blood and dust and call them COLLATERAL FUCKING DAMAGE.  They are the problem.
Do you have children?  I have two.  They are six year old twins.  I watch them sleeping at night, and I wonder what I would do if I had to carry their dead bodies through the streets, and bury them in a huge pit full of other dead people, simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Do not be fooled.  There is an epic battle going on in the world today, and it is not Israel vs. Hamas. It is not Jew vs. Muslim.  IT is not East vs. West; Islam vs. Christianity; or rich vs. poor.
It is GOOD vs. EVIL.
And neither of these are relative, so don’t believe the fancy words of politicians or even “religious” leaders who are sucking at the teat of those who stand to gain from conflict.
In every part of this world–in every corner of the planet–there are good people.  Those who value life, who seek higher knowledge, who answer to a higher power, and who understand that there is a better way than violence.
And among those are people who, despite what they say, secretly believe they are better than other people and deserve more–more money, more power, more land, more life.
YOU must choose for yourself which group you will be a part of.
I am not a democrat.
I am not a republican.
I am not a Muslim.
I am not a Jew.
I am not a Christian.
I am not a Hindu.
I am not a socialist.
I am not a capitalist.
I AM A HUMAN BEING.  And this is my party.  The Human Party.

I am an alien

Its official. I’ve decided that when I had that dream about aliens at around age 7, that I was really experiencing a homecoming.

This could explain why I am so attracted to foil and the flashy lights that appear from my fingers when I get anxious.

Just go with it. All of you.
